Night Work Scheduled for Wednesday, July 26th into Thursday, July 27th
The next major task on this project is the delivery and setting of the 142-foot long precast concrete girders for the new bridge.
To facilitate this work the Whatcom County Public Works Department and Razz Construction would like to inform local residents that there will be night work occurring at the project site Wednesday, July 26th into Thursday, July 27th.
During this night work there will be heavy construction equipment operating.
We appreciate everyone's patience and cooperation as we complete this important transportation project.
Pile driving and both the east and west abutments are now complete.
Next major upcoming work item is delivery and setting of the precast concrete girders which is scheduled to happen in late July.
Slater Road is closed at this location during construction. It is anticipated that the bridge construction will be complete and Slater Road reopened to traffic in late 2017.
Location: Slater Road at Jordan Creek located approximately 800-feet west of Elder Road.
Project Details:This project consists of replacing an existing deteriorating 10-foot wide by 7-foot tall steel arch culvert under Slater Road at Jordan Creek with an approximately 140-foot span bridge. Work will also include improvements to Jordan Creek to improve fish passage.
Traffic Limitations: Slater Road will be closed at this location during construction which is expected to start in the spring of 2017 and run
through late 2017/early 2018. A signed detour route will be in place during construction which will likely include Elder Road, Unich Road and Lake Terrell Road for local traffic and I-5, Grandview Road, Kickerville Road, and Lake Terrell Road for truck traffic.
