What is a Special Event
Any event doing any of the following is considered a special event:
Open to the Public
Selling food, alcohol or merchandise
Requires services or facilities not normally available to the general public
May disrupt or interfere with the public's regular use of the facility
Contacted regarding availability and event details
Receive preliminary permit
Submit required permit information
Receive final permit
Permit Insurance Requirements
Whatcom County Parks & Recreation requires all Special Event Permits be insured for the term of the permit. The applicant shall obtain and file with the Department no less than 30 days prior to the event insurance that meets the minimum requirements.
