  1. Development Standards Technical Advisory Committee

    The Development Standards Technical Advisory Committee reviews all proposed standards and modifications that propose project designs deemed by the technical administrator not to be in strict compliance with development standards. Executive appointed.

  2. Developmental Disabilities Board

    The Developmental Disabilities Board shall serve in an advisory capacity to the Department of Developmental Disabilities Services. Executive appointed.

  3. Drayton Harbor Shellfish Protection Advisory

    The Drayton Harbor Shellfish Protection District Advisory Committee's duties are to advise the County Council on the proposed actions and operations relating to the restoration of water quality in the Drayton Harbor watershed. Council appointed.

  4. Economic Development Investment Board

    The Economic Development Investment Board was created to make recommendations to the Whatcom County Council to invest in economic development and public facilities that further the goals for promoting the ongoing operation of business in Whatcom County. Executive appointed.

  5. EMS Executive Oversight Board (EOB)

    The Whatcom County Emergency Medical Services Boards mak recommendations to Whatcom County and the cities and fire districts of Whatcom County regarding administration, operations, levels of service and EMS budgets.

  6. EMS Technical Advisory Board (TAB)

    The EMS Technical Advisory Board serves as advisors and makes recommendations to the EMS Executive Oversight Board (EOB) and to EMS providers in Whatcom County regarding operational, educational and logistical components of basic through advanced life support services.

  7. Ethics Commission

    The Ethics Commission receives complaints of ethics violations and otherwise administers the Code of Ethics.

  8. Flood Control Zone District Advisory Committee

    The Flood Control Zone District Advisory Committee assists and make recommendations to the Flood Control Zone District Board of Supervisors in performing flood damage repairs, maintenance and improvements, and to minimize future further flood damage. Council appointed.

  9. Flood Control Subzone Advisory Committees

    The Flood Control Subzone Advisory Committees review the comprehensive plan for flood control, discuss and recommend budget appropriation, and gather public input by holding public meetings.

  10. Forestry Advisory Committee

    The Forestry Advisory Committee provides review and recommendations to the Whatcom County Council on issues that affect the forestry industry. Council appointed.

  11. Horticultural Pest & Disease Board

    The Horticultural Pest and Disease Board is created to enable Whatcom County to more effectively control and prevent the spread of horticultural pests and diseases. Council appointed.

  12. Housing Authority of Whatcom County

    The Housing Authority's purpose is to provide quality, affordable housing for low- and moderate-income families, elderly households, and persons with disabilities. Executive appointed.

  13. Incarceration Prevention and Reduction Task Force

    The purpose of the Incarceration Prevention and Reduction Task Force is to review Whatcom County's criminal justice and behavioral health programs to make recommendations to safely and effectively reduce incarceration of individuals struggling with mental illness and chemical dependency, and minimize jail utilization by pretrial defendants who can safety be released.

  14. Jail Planning Task Force

    The Jail Planning Task Force was created to provide advice and recommendations to the County Executive and the County Council regarding the appropriate size and location of new jail facilities. Currently inactive.

  15. Jail Stakeholder Workgroup

    The purpose of the Incarceration Prevention and Reduction Task Force is to review Whatcom County's criminal justice and behavioral health programs to make recommendations to safely and effectively reduce incarceration of individuals struggling with mental illness and chemical dependency, and minimize jail utilization by pretrial defendants who can safety be released.

  16. Law & Justice Council

    The Law and Justice Council was formed to provide a permanent ongoing forum and structure to coordinate and enhance criminal and juvenile justice agencies, programs and services in Whatcom County. Currently inactive.

  19. Lummi Island Ferry Advisory Committee

    The Lummi Island Ferry Advisory Committee (LIFAC) provides review and recommendations to the Whatcom County Council and Executive on issues that affect the ongoing operations and infrastructure of ferry service to Lummi Island. Council appointed.

  20. Marine Resource Committee

    The Marine Resource Committee will address local marine issues and recommend remedial action to local authorities. Executive appointed.
