New Foot and Bike Trails Now Open at Lookout Mountain Forest Preserve

Whatcom County Parks & Recreation is pleased to announce, effective immediately, the opening of Rufus Creek Trail at Lookout Mountain Forest Preserve located near Sudden Valley. This trail is 4.3 miles long, with several miles of new trail construction.  The Cougar Ridge descending mountain bike trail remains closed while crews finish up work.  When opened, Cougar Ridge Trail adds another 1.3 miles to the trail system.

These trails were built in partnership with volunteers from the Washington Trails Association, Whatcom Mountain Bike Coalition, Whatcom Land Trust, Greater Bellingham Running Club, and REI as well as crews from the City of Bellingham and Washington Conservation Corps.
