About the Division of Emergency Management

Road ClosedThe Division of Emergency Management (DEM) is responsible for developing and maintaining a community infrastructure for emergency/disaster mitigation, planning, response, and recovery.

Whatcom County DEM has partnered with other local emergency preparedness organizations to create Whatcom Unified Emergency Management (WUEM). At our website, you can find out more about WUEM, as well as learn about hazards in our community, how you can prepare for them, and how you can get involved.

This is a partial list. Road conditions may change rapidly. Delays between when a road is closed and when staff are able to update this list may be long. Use caution on all roads.
