File Formats and Accessibility

The Whatcom County web site is designed to conform with level A, priority one checkpoints of W3C's Web Accessibility Initiative. Level A conformance icon,

Some files provided on our web site contain special formatting, such as a court form, and are provided in other formats for downloading and printing. Examples include word processing files, spreadsheets, or Acrobat PDF files. Please contact us at (360) 676-7684 if you need an alternative format.

Adobe PDF files:

Many files on the Whatcom County website are provided in Adobe®Acrobat portable document format (.pdf). To access these files, you must have the Adobe®Acrobat® Reader installed on your computer, available free from Adobe, click here.

The newest version of the free reader, Version 7, comes in two formats. A basic reader which is very fast and a "full" version that is somewhat slower. For most users the basic version will do everything you need. Older operating systems such as Windows ME and 98 will need to download Version 6.01.
