Mission

The Natural Resource Division provides technical and projectCreek Photo assistance to County departments, community groups and government agencies dealing with water quality, marine resource protection, salmon recovery, noxious weeds and other ecosystem-related watershed concerns in Whatcom County. Programs include:

What We Do Every Day

The Natural Resources Division develops and implements work programs, leads and manages studies and restoration projects, provides support to citizen committees, participates on multi-agency teams, and creates informational materials on water issues in the county.

Natural Resources staff also work with other county staff from Health, Public Works, Planning and Development Services, and Cooperative Extension to ensure an integrated approach to water issues throughout the county.
