The Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office is currently seeking applicants for the Reserve Deputy Sheriff Program. Minimum requirements are as follows:
- 21 years of age
- U.S. citizen
- Pass a written and physical fitness test
- Pass an oral board
- Pass a background investigation, polygraph examination, and a psychological interview
- Successfully graduate from an accredited Washington State Reserve Law Enforcement Academy
Once these requirements are fulfilled you will receive a limited police commission and be required to go on patrols with deputies 20 hours a month for a minimum of 24 months.
If you would like to apply please complete the Reserve Deputy Interest Card and return it to the Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office at 311 Grand Ave. Bellingham, WA 98225. Once received you will be notified of the test date, time, and location.
