Work Party Opportunities

Looking for an opportunity to volunteer? Think about joining a Whatcom County Parks & Recreations trail work party.

A work party is a scheduled trail maintenance or development project lead by park staff. Don't worry you don't need to be an expert or have tools. Our staff will provide the training and equipment you need to have a great experience. You will learn planning and construction skills, how to identify and remove invasive species, and how to plant native flora and fauna.

Summer 2018 Work Party Round-Up

Volunteers know that trails don’t build and maintain themselves. During the summer of 2018, volunteers donated more than 3,000 hours of labor to build 5 miles of new hike and bike trail at Lookout Mountain Forest Preserve.
