Developmental Disabilities Advisory Board

The Developmental Disabilities Advisory Board (DDAB) advises the Whatcom County Health department on the work of the County Developmental Disabilities Program. The Board plans services for developmentally disabled people and works closely with those coordinating services. 

Areas in which the board advises include:

  •  Planning and coordination of local services to individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • County Contracted employment and day program services.
  • Information and referral for individuals with developmental disabilities in Whatcom County.

DDAB members include representatives from:

  • Public, private, or voluntary agencies.
  • Local government.
  • Citizens knowledgeable about developmental disabilities.

Meetings are open to the public. They provide an opportunity for community members to share and receive information about issues affecting people with developmental disabilities in Whatcom County.
