This project will provide water quality improvements by installing a stormwater vault and new storm pipe to reduce phosphorus loading of Lake Whatcom. The new treatment system will perform water quality mitigation for approximately 22 acres of development.
The Lake Whatcom Comprehensive Stormwater Plan identifies retrofitting the existing stormwater system from the Woodlake Meadow Estates to improve the water quality entering Silver Beach Creek.
The construction contract was awarded to Oceanside Construction, Inc. Work is anticipated to start mid-August and should be significantly complete by the end of September. Woodlake Road will be closed to through traffic during working hours, drivers and pedestrians should observe all construction signs and follow all detours. Roadway will reopen on nights, weekends and holidays. Please check back for future updates.
