Free Monkeypox Vaccination Clinic set for Tuesday, Advanced Registration Required

The Whatcom County Health Department (WCHD) is hosting a Monkeypox Virus (MPV) vaccination clinic on Tuesday, Oct. 4, at 1500 N. State St. Bellingham. 

WCHD has a limited supply of MPV vaccine and asks that anyone who signs up self-identify as meeting eligibility criteria set by the Department of Health and listed below. Advanced registration is required. Appointments are in 25-minute increments starting at 9:26 am and continuing until 2:25 pm. This free clinic is for people who are unable to get the vaccine from their healthcare provider. Register online at: https://bit.ly/3SEVEwY.


Current MPV vaccine eligibility criteria is for people who: 

1. Had skin-to-skin contact with someone who has a diagnosed or suspected case of MPV. 

OR 

2. Attended an event where Monkeypox was later discovered to have spread. 

 OR

3. Is a sex worker of any gender or sexual orientation.

 OR

4. Is a person with a penis who has sex with one or more people with a penis AND at least one of the following applies:

  • Are Black, Hispanic, Latinx, Native Hawaiian, Pacific Islander, Asian, Indigenous, American Indian or Alaska Native.
  • Had multiple sex partners in the past 3 months.
  • Had gonorrhea or syphilis in the past year.
  • Used methamphetamine in the past month.
  • Attended a bathhouse or public sex venue in the past 3 months.
  • Are Homeless or in unstable housing AND staying in a congregate setting.
  • Exchanged sex for money, drugs, or other purposes in the past 3 months.
  • Incarcerated in the past 3 months.
