Vaccine Appointments to be Available at Community Vaccination Center on April 3
BELLINGHAM, WA -- The Community Vaccination Center (CVC) located at Bellingham Technical College (BTC) will open its largest clinic yet on Saturday, April 3 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be 700 appointments available for the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
“We’re excited to have so much of this vaccine to offer this weekend,” said Shanon Hardie, chief operating officer for Unity Care Northwest and co-chair of the CVC Steering Committee. “Seven hundred doses of Johnson & Johnson means seven hundred more fully-vaccinated people in our community.”
More people will be eligible for this clinic than in any prior CVC clinic, including approximately 38,000 more Whatcom County residents in Phase 1B Tiers 3 and 4, who will become eligible on Wednesday, March 31. Phase 1B Tiers 3-4 includes anyone older than 60, anyone older than 16 with two or more comorbidities or underlying conditions, anyone living, working or volunteering in certain congregate living settings, and high-risk critical workers in restaurants, food services, construction and manufacturing.
Registration for the April 3 clinic opens at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 31, the same day Phase 1B tiers 3-4 become eligible for vaccination in Washington State. Anyone in an eligible phase may register for the April 3 clinic.
Appointments for the April 3 CVC clinic can be made at prepmod.doh.wa.gov or by phone at (360) 778-6075. The phone line is intended for people without access to the internet or who need language assistance - please do not call if you can access the internet. It’s much faster to schedule online than over the phone, and the phone service needs to be prioritized for those who can’t schedule online. For more information about how to schedule an appointment and what to expect at the CVC clinic, watch this video, produced by BTV.
The CVC is a collaborative effort between Bellingham Technical College, Unity Care NW, Whatcom County Health Department, Whatcom Unified Command, Family Care Network, PeaceHealth, Sea Mar Community Health Centers, Hoagland Pharmacy, and Whatcom Community College (WCC).
