Community Vaccination Clinic Establishes New Weekly Schedule;
Two New Clinic Events This Week

BELLINGHAM, WA -- The Community Vaccination Center located at Bellingham Technical College will begin hosting regular weekly COVID-19 vaccine clinics every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, starting this Thursday, April 29. Tuesday and Thursday clinics will be held in the evenings, while Saturday clinics will be held during daytime hours. Exact clinic hours will depend on the need for second dose clinics, which are invitation-only clinics for people who received their first dose at the CVC and are guaranteed second-dose appointments.

Registration is now open for both April 29 and May 1 clinics. The CVC’s Thursday clinic on April 29 will run from 6-8 p.m., and 240 doses of Moderna will be available for those needing their first shot. An additional 480 first doses will be available at the Saturday clinic on May 1, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Anyone over the age of 18 can make an appointment for these clinics.

People who need language assistance or have technology barriers can call 360-778-6075 to schedule an appointment. The phone line operates Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Additionally, anyone who has had trouble finding an appointment for their second dose is encouraged to call 360-778-6075 for assistance.

“The intention of the Community Vaccination Center has been to fill in what the network of private providers doesn’t have capacity for,” said Cindy Hollinsworth, communicable disease and epidemiology manager for the Whatcom County Health Department. “Many more healthcare providers and pharmacies in Whatcom County are able to offer the vaccine now, so we will continue to watch the uptake of appointments and vaccine supply to adjust CVC operations accordingly.”

Resources are available for those who want more information about scheduling appointments on PrepMod or accessing the CVC clinic site:

  • Video-walkthroughs on how to use PrepMod are available in English and Spanish.
  • Videos in English and Spanish about what to expect at the CVC are also available.
  • General directions and accessibility information, including an ADA accessibility map, are available at VaccinateWhatcom.org.

Located at Bellingham Technical College, the CVC is a collaborative effort between BTC, Unity Care NW, Whatcom County Health Department, Whatcom Unified Command, Family Care Network, PeaceHealth, Sea Mar Community Health Centers, Hoagland Pharmacy, and Whatcom Community College (WCC).
