Get Vaccinated and Sign up to Win a New Truck

Registration for Drawing Now Open

BELLINGHAM, WA -- Whatcom County residents who get their first shot of the COVID-19 vaccine between June 1 and July 31 can now sign up for the chance to win a vehicle of their choice at WinATruckWhatcom.com.

The drawing is being held by Chuckanut Health Foundation, in collaboration with the Bellingham Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Whatcom County Health Department, to encourage COVID-19 vaccination. The winner will be awarded a $60,000 credit towards the purchase of any vehicle from participating local auto dealers.

“All three of the COVID-19 vaccines are proven to prevent infection and transmission, and in the rare event of post-vaccination infection, they prevent severe illness and hospitalization,” said Dr. Chao-ying Wu, a Family Care Network physician and Chuckanut Health Foundation board member.  “Getting vaccinated is safe, effective and free. This is a great opportunity for all of us to do our part to keep ourselves and our family, friends, and neighbors safe from COVID-19, and get our community back on track.”

The drawing is open to any resident of Whatcom County aged 18 or older who initiates vaccination between June 1 and July 31, but the prize will only be awarded after proof of full vaccination is provided by the winner. Proof of vaccination is not required to enter the drawing, and participants aren’t required to finish vaccination before the date of the drawing. Residents are considered fully vaccinated two weeks after their second shot of Moderna or Pfizer, or 2 weeks after their first and only Johnson & Johnson shot.

“The faster we can put this pandemic behind us, the faster we can get back to business,” said Guy Occhiogrosso, president and CEO of the Bellingham Regional Chamber of Commerce. “And there’s no faster way than widespread vaccination.”
